The harsh winter has passed and given way to a mild spring. The north remains frigid and cold and the south remains starved of water, but the extreme temperatures and storms are slowly beginning to subside. Vegetation is beginning to grow where once it was too cold, and the rains are returning to the deserts previously plagued with wintry drought.

The Nesslewood Range is unique from other mountains. The Goddesses wanted a place where lions could almost touch the sky, so when they rose this range they carved a long, snakelike path between two tall cliffs. Here, the summers were mild and winters were shielded from the harsh cold, and plants and animals flourished. The Nesslewood Range used to reach all the way down to the Nesslewood forest, but half of it was destroyed during Daivat's destruction.

Situated in the northernmost area of the Great Valley are the Frostlands, caught in the eternal war waged against it by the snow and frost. Permanently coated with hardened caps of snow which allow on the slightest of rubble from beneath to break through. The hills slope into the adjacent mountainsides and span into a narrow valley, offering precarious footing and sheer cliffs on which ibex prove their prowess. The temperatures rarely fluctuate so seasons hardly affect the landscape.

Whereas the frostlands hold a wintry edge, the Hawkhaven sits on the southernmost lip of the valley. The larger trees and vertical scale into the mountain creates the perfect place where many species of raptors roost. The large trees vary to different forms of hardwood, intermixed with some evergreens that create beautiful palettes during the change of seasons. Though densely forested it is still quite mountainous, split only by a thunderous waterfall which runs from the middle crest.

The runoff from the mountains trails underground through the entire great valley, forming large tributaries before eventually trickling into the creek, which is also fed by the grand roarung waterfall from the Hawkhaven. Small congregations of stones make up one bank of the creek. Though the waters are shallow the creek nearly overflows with the spring melt as the snowpack rushes down the mountains. During winter it’ll freeze over completely though the shallowness leads to fragility.
