It was twilight.

The setting sun colouring the sky in different hues, ranging from some of the palest pinks, to patches of vibrant oranges, with hints of blue popping out here and there, with the clouds acting as accents of colour. It was one of her favourite times of day. Right before the sun truly started to set, and the world would be engulfed in what could sometimes seem like never ending darkness. The nights seemed to get darker almost every day, though she didn't mind that. Her goddess would guide her through the night after all, hopefully to some sort of safety.

As the season had changed from winter to spring, she spent more time within the nice, chilly regions of Isfera. During the winter being in the temperate regions was usually fairly comfortable, and even the really hot areas felt a little less like death, but as the seasons started to change, and the heat came back once again, she was forced to retreat back to her sanctuary of coldness. Summer was the season that she truly hated the absolute most, and every passing day brought her closer to the days where leaving the nice chilly regions would turn into utter hell for her, complete and utter hell.

Yet as she moved through the Glacial Isles she seemed to be surrounded by complete silence. The chaos of the past couple of years seemed to only be subsiding, and as the storms left, and the famine subsided, the true and utter lack of others became more and more apparent. The death toll seemed to be much higher than she had originally thought, and she was only left with the linguering smells of others that had once passed. "Hmmm," she uttered to herself,
"no one to play with,"

"Speech."" |298 words|

"You can play with me." maybe, for the apparent rogue, Ruth would seem to come out of nowhere. The woman had not taken any care to try to remain hidden. Her reasoning for being here was not much; she simply saw the lady whilst coming simultaneously from behind, heard her words, and responded as such. Her voice lacked any hint of seduction--the only tone it had was casuality with a hint of play, of friendly tease. Ruth didn't mind engaging with strangers in conversation (after all, she'd yet to meet anyone she recognized, and boredom--along with finding steady meals--was one of her top problems). She hoped this woman didn't mind either.

"Hi." she says, making sure her posture did not seem aggressive or arrogant as she attempts to stand a few feet away to the woman's right. Her teal eyes lock onto purple ones. "How are you?" she doesn't really care how the woman is, and hopes her tone says that. Really, the question is only there to get some sort of conversation going. One she hopes might satisfy her undying boredom.

If her arrival was not met with any sort of aggression, she would sit, extra fluffy tail wrapping around her paws. Her eyes do not leave the other's for the most part, but they did glance at the sky every now and then to pinpoint just how long it would take for the sunn to fully go down. With her random mind, she briefly imagines the two women snuggled in a den somewhere, keeping each other company. Perhaps the thought is a sign of longing. Ruth does not mull over it as she waits for a response.

"You can play with me."

The voice of another responds to her own open ended question. Well, it seemed that someone else had come to play with her, how lucky. Her attention turned to the women who had come to "greet" her. She was a mixture of a steel like blue, with a rather small stature, well, at least small for callosus. Her scent did not hold any distinct pride smell, or at least, what she could remember of what the old prides used to smell like. She hadn't run into anyone who seemed to be apart of them for a while now, so she couldn't help but wonder if they were even still around or not. The women eye's seemed to want to search for Jess' own, and she fought back to hold her gaze for a few seconds, before her eyes would once again fall to search the woman's body. She wasn't that interested in playing a dominance game that simply entailed a staring contest.

"Oh, you wish to play with me?" she questioned, moving a bit closer to Ruth, who had taken a sitting position. She had deliberately ignored her question, after all, she currently did not consider Ruth as someone with much importance, and she could also tell that the woman couldn't care much about her well-being given the tone in which she had asked the question had been so lackluster that she didn't seem to want to even try and hide her own boredom and trying to start a diplomatic conversation.

"But," she continued, this time looking past Ruth towards the background behind her, "what makes you think you are worthy to play with me?"

"Speech." |280 words|

A chuckle eminates softly from Ruth's maw. Her eyes still mostly remain on the stranger, giving attention where needed, but ensures those eyes do not make the receiver uncomfortable, by taking her eyes off every once in a while to look at other things. The woman seemed to take the sign that Ruth didn't really care how she was by choosing to ignore the question entirely. Instead, she asked her own question, and the question was what made her chuckle.

If Ruth knew her, if they were friends, Ruth would not have responded verbally. Rather, she would engage in the very play she sought after--a mostly harmless display of dominance. But with that out the question here, she'd have to settle with words. "I can't just tell you, you know." she began, the friendly light tease still in her tone. "It wouldn't be good to say what makes me worthy. You'd have to find and see for yourself." amusingly enough, she realized she didn't truly answer the girl's question. Quickly she considered it a small bit of payback for not answering her own, even though it didn't matter.

A light breeze ruffles her fur from behind. She welcomes the cold into her pelt. Void of most of the tease she used before (but don't worry, Ruth still had plenty of stamina to keep it up), she asks a rather serious question. "Do you know of any Kingdoms around here?" she'd been in Isfera for a good bit now, but had yet to even encounter one. Slow traveler.
