march, y1 (spring)
The harsh winter has passed and given way to a mild spring. The north remains frigid and cold and the south remains starved of water, but the extreme temperatures and storms are slowly beginning to subside. Vegetation is beginning to grow where once it was too cold, and the rains are returning to the deserts previously plagued with wintry drought.

SShe travels through the mountains. Snow covering the tip tops that are hidden from the clouds. Her large paws, covered in fluff that was making her look bigger than she truly was, carried her from her home in the snow cliffs towards the edges of the snow territory. Further South. She did not understand why. Morana did not like the South, it was to hot, so why was she traveling here? Perhaps it is due to never even knowing about the South until Daivat came and destroyed everything. And she had taken notice that since the evil Gods arrival, her own Goddess had been weakened and it frustrated her deeply. Perhaps she would make a trip to Danica soon; very soon. For now, the inky Queen would continue her travels towards the south. Going through different terrain until it gave way to the sea. Stopping dead tracks as rose eyes watched the sea come in and go out. To her back stood the trees and the edge of grass before the fine-grain sand kissed her toes. However, Morana would not move any further. She wasn't to fond of sand. It was to... sandy. She preferred the snow. The ice. The glaciers and rocks. Everything that she loved was her home in Wintervale. Though, Morana did enjoy the view of the sea that she could easily find from the cliff's of her own home and other places nearby. It made her feel like she was on top of the world, unlike here.

She was a creature of the sea, and never strayed far from her home by choice. The winter storms had kept her away longer than she would've liked, but with the approach of spring, the weather was improving -- meaning a calmer, more serene sea. And Kailua, while perfectly capable of navigating the rough waters, preferred smooth sailing. It made fishing much, much easier.

The little sea-nymph's was mostly seafood -- no surprise there -- and today, she was paddling into the surf in search of lunch. Above her, seagulls drifted lazily on the wind, watching her with keen eyes. She was a small, tiny huntress, and maybe they felt confident enough to bombard her when she found something tasty. If they tried, she'd be having a side of bird with her meal! She worked hard for her food, and no birdbrain was going to steal it from her. The sea-nymph gave them a short, irritated chirp -- like the bark of an otter -- as it to say, 'Not today!'

Then, quite suddenly, she disappeared beneath the waves, her webbed paws pushing her down into the shallow reef. Whereas some magic-users were able to breathe underwater, like a fish, Kailua had to hold her breath like a seal. She could hold her breath for a decent period of time, allowing her to dive down to the sea floor and turn over rocks with her extra-long claws -- another adaption of hers. She could cling tightly to coral and slippery rocks, and hold onto the most slippery of prey! Kailua was built for the sea.

And today, her beloved sea was teeming with life. Down onto the sea floor she went, where a squid was creeping along the rocks. Its color turned red as she approached, but she had done this before. Her jaws opened, paws reaching and scooping at the sea-creature to bring it into her teeth. A cloud of ink exploded around them, yet it was too little, too late. The squirming squid was already caught in her teeth, plucked off the sea floor like nothing. She'd gotten lucky today.

The creature was still wriggling in her grasp when she returned to the surface several minutes later, loudly snorting to clear the water from her nose and flicking her ears, drying them a little. Kailua would've been happy to eat her squid in the surf, but when she looked to the beach and saw a massive form near the ride, her curiosity had her swimming in. Oh, she wasn't about to leave the water, but she wanted to paddle a little closer to see exactly what the beast was. It rather looked like a bear, but she had this feeling that told her it was something else -- but what, exactly? She needed to know!

Sadly, Morana did not see the sea nymph as the lioness swam down below only to come up with a squid in her jaws. However, she had heard a snort but did not know where it had come from or which direction. It only caused her head to lower to the ground until she forced herself onto the beach. Sand slipping between her over-sized paws, her toes splaying out and claws digging; trying to find traction where there was none at all. It was terrible really, and she looked a little clumsy but Morana managed as she took it slow. Until she got onto the mud and sand that the sea turned dark. No longer needing claws Morana would smirk, feeling steady once more as she went towards the on-coming waves. Though they were not as strong as they once were it did not matter to her as she closed her eyes and suddenly jumped into the air. Inky fur turning white, paws becoming wings and webbed feet. Nose becoming a beak as she took to the air in a form of a seagull. Not realizing that she was not alone. That another was watching as she soared above the glistening sea. Violet beady eyes searching the sea for fish, or anything that could satisfy her ever growing hunger. But what? Morana did not know what there was that she could catch in this form, normally she turned to a seal in the colder water's but down here she needed to try something different.
