march, y1 (spring)
The harsh winter has passed and given way to a mild spring. The north remains frigid and cold and the south remains starved of water, but the extreme temperatures and storms are slowly beginning to subside. Vegetation is beginning to grow where once it was too cold, and the rains are returning to the deserts previously plagued with wintry drought.

Darkness had settled over the lush forest. Beneath the canopy, one would have to have excellent eyesight to traverse through the maze that was the Highlands.
Lucky for the near black creature, she had been raised within this nestle of confusion. Her young life had been spent wandering, exploring, getting lost and figuring out how to get back home.

Tonight, however, Aisha had found herself a nice clearly. She lay beneath the open night sky. The stars smiled down, happy to be seen without the interference of clouds. The glory of the full moon gazed down upon the world with a holy kindness.
Livana was surely bestowing her beauty for her priestess this night!

Before the dark woman's paws rested a small altar. Clean rocks had been placed meticulously into that of a shrine. Small intertwined moon birthed flowers decorated the stones. And a gorgeous crystal lay at it's center, absorbing the white light of the heavens.

The priestess' horned head was titled toward the lunar beauty. From her black lips rose a soft chanting. A sweet mix of sounds that were almost birdlike in nature. For what better way to converse with the Gods than to sing the sky's song?

The dense forest isn't usually a place Bengal would wander. But with the night mild and a full belly, the pale man had landed nearby at dusk. Exploration was on his mind; the temperate pine forest was very different to the snow-scarred landscape of the north. Most of the winding paths through the trunks were too small for him, and he had to improvise with brief efforts of flight and gliding over areas of saplings. It was difficult to navigate in the dark already, let alone when he couldn't find already-worn trails. It was frustating, and his tail whipped behind him as he walked.

The pale light of the moon filtered through the leaves above him as Bengal ducked under a tree branch. Much to his surprise, the brighter glow was because of a clearing. Without trees to shadow the earth, the moss and grass looked like silver. Bengal padded softly forward, drinking in the scene. The light wind brought the smell of earth and plants from deeper in the treeline, but he didn't pay it much heed. Instead, he focused on an unfamiliar lion scent, quite close-by.

Moving out of the undergrowth properly, Bengal quickly spied the bowed form of a stranger. She was dark-coloured and he had almost missed her in the mix of greyscale and dull greens around him. Vaguely, he could pick up on the faint chanting. Was she conducting some sort of ceremony? Curious, the pale man offered a baritone chuff of greeting and began to approach. "A pleasant night, yes?" he murmured as he drew closer, tone friendly and conversational.

With careful steps she moved across the highlands but it wasn’t as majestic as one might think. Normally the pale steel woman could maneuver her way through most any territory with grace but this was a little more difficult. The trees were everywhere and the trail too disguised to see properly but she kept moving in an effort to figure out where it was she was being taken. At least this way she might be able to teach herself some navigational skills while she was at it.

Of course, she never looked to come across strangers but when she could see the shapes up ahead as the clearing grew less populated she felt the heat rise. Corinna was somewhat fearful of their position here if only because she wasn’t sure who they truly were. If she could read into their minds it would be much easier to determine if they were just her speed but she simply had to take a guess this time.

As she began to walk closer she allowed a gentle hum just loud enough for them to hear and see her coming. Corinna didn’t hide her silhouette and allowed them to know that she was not unfriendly. Even as she grew nearer to them did she see more of what they were. A dark woman with stone-like horns upon her head and a very light-colored male with wings like an angel. Dark versus light, almost, though she wouldn’t begin to press that the woman was evil simply because she was dark-skinned and had horns upon her head.

As she approaches she realizes she must be interrupting something important. The woman is giving some sort of chirping chant. Cori is not ignorant of praising the goddess and thus lowers her head and waits a second. Her attention moving to the male as her body then gravitates closest to him so as not to interrupt. “Hello,” she calls to them as she takes one extra step closer and gives a timid smile. One that she hoped was appeasing and attractive to see, otherwise she might as well turn tail and run now. Corinna truly wanted to see them when Danica was overhead but this would surely do.

“Are you guys, um, together?” It was as awkward as it sounded but since she wasn’t here when the pale man had come to greet her and he seemed rather friendly she could only make the assumption that she was the third wheel.

Magic did not run through Aisha's veins as it did her family. Yet never did she see herself weaker or burdened with a disadvantage. Magic was within all those who loved their Deity.
The songs continued as the male approached. An elegant hymn that drifted toward the night sky without great haste. Worship was not a race by any means. It was as fast or as slow as one wished. The Gods would receive it either which way.
When the man spoke, a soft trill rolled from the lioness' throat. The song ended and her head turned toward the stranger; mint eyes set wide in surprise. Despite being taken off guard, no hostility touched her features. With his greeting now registered, Aishani's eyes laxed and a welcoming smile graced her lips. "Indeed." Cranium dipping with hello. "I apologize for missing your approach."
He was handsome and striking against the dark backdrop. An unfamiliar face that could have been a king for all she knew. How she really would hate to offend such a lion.

Another figure was then noticed. The winged man was so bright he was all that that the priestess could see in her mild shock. Dark ears pulled forward as Aishani slowly pushed herself up into a sit. She gave a weak shake of her head to rid her vision of any stray silver mane.
Any questions from the other feminine had been unintentionally missed. So as Aisha gazed upon them both, her thoughts reflected the other's. Were these two an item? Perhaps they had become lost within the darkness of the wood.
